Gynaecological health
Integrative menopause medical consultation
Gynaecological health
Menopause is the definitive cessation of ovarian function, and it entails the end of menstruation. It usually occurs at around 50 years, although the interval ranges from 45 to 55 years.
A woman can be considered to have entered menopause when a year has passed since the last period without having had any menstrual bleeding.
Sometimes it can be faced with some fear and anxiety, but it is a natural physiological stage.
It is therefore important to receive good medical advice that allows us to maintain good quality of life.
What does the medical consultation consist of?
This is a consultation by a gynaecologist specialising in women’s regenerative and functional gynaecology. It lasts about 30 minutes and includes:
- A personalised interview to get to know the needs, symptoms and lifestyle of each woman.
- A review of health history and family history.
- An establishment of risk levels, including an in-depth assessment of menopause and hormonal and body changes.
A personalised plan
Based on the study carried out at the consultation, a personalised plan will be established, which may include different therapeutic strategies, in order to improve your well-being and quality of life:
- Natural therapies.
- Regenerative treatments to improve vulvovaginal health.
- Indication of personalised supplementation.
- Advice on menopause hormone replacement therapy.
- Sexual advice.
- Assessment of the need for a consultation in other subunits of the centre: nutrition, physiotherapy, sleep quality, mental health…
Consult a specialist
Menopause is a stage that varies a lot from one woman to another, both in its onset and development and in the effects it causes, so when it comes to recommending treatments it is difficult to offer a response that is valid for all women. The best thing, therefore, is to consult a specialist to decide on the most appropriate treatment in each case, as well as to detect any problem that may have an impact on health or quality of life in advance and implement the appropriate measures. This is why it is essential to establish this personalised plan and follow up on it.
